Co-Opted Governors

After leaving university with a BSc(Hons)S/W degree in Music Technology and Audio Systems, I worked in industry for three years - ending my time as an audio/visual engineer.  As I enjoyed working with children as part of that job, I made the decision to retrain as a primary school teacher via the graduate teacher training programme.

Thirteen years, and four schools later, I now teach in the Beaumont Leys area of Leicester. My primary responsibility within the school is as Curriculum Coordinator, which entails me having an overview of the whole curriculum including coverage and progression. I also lead the school ‘Eco-Warriors’ team who were recently awarded the Eco-Schools Green Flag with merit.

Both my sons attend Newcroft. My experiences as a Newcroft parent have so far been extremely positive, and I would like to help in any way I can to ensure that this is the case for all parents and their children who attend the school.
