Curriculum
This half term our topic is called ‘All Creatures Great and Small.’ We will be sharing lots of animal stories including Dear Zoo, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, some dinosaur non-fiction texts, and beginning our work on minibeasts and life cycles. We will be developing our reading, writing, maths and creative skills through lots of practical activities linked to these texts. We will end the half term with a week on the festival of Easter and looking at the season of spring.
PE Days:
We ask that parents ensure P.E kit is in school all week and sent home as required for washing through the term and at the end of a half term.
Mrs Johnson’s class have PE on a Thursday.
Mrs Cran’s class have PE on a Thursday.
Reading:
Please share stories with your child at least three times a week and record this in their home-school diaries for us to celebrate in school. As the phonics scheme books get longer, you may want to read half a book and finish the book the next time you read. The children also have a second book that they should be able to finish in one session. Please also work on some phonics/reading activities on Busythings.
Homework:
For most of the year, the homework will be reading and phonics activities. However, do look out in the home-school diary for occasional optional homework for children to complete.
