This half term our topic is 'Nurturing Nurses'. We will be learning all about India in our English, VRIC and History lessons. We will learning about how nurses have helped to change our hospitals, how brave Florence Nightingale was and we will have an opportunity to ask a modern day nurse all of our burning questions!
In English, we will be reading 'Little Red' and 'The True Story of the Three Little Pigs. With these texts in mind, we will be writing a character description, a newspaper report and writing a diary entry as Florence Nightingale. We will be focussing on using conjunctions, contractions and using time adverbials.
In Maths, we will continuing our learning using the 4 operations. We will be thinking all about adding, subtracting, multipplying and dividing numbers up to 100 as well continuing to practise our 2x, 5x and 10x table!
We ask that parents ensure P.E kit is in school all week and sent home as required for washing through the term and at the end of a half term. A reminder that we ask that parents to send their child with a warm jumper and jogging bottoms for outdoor P.E sessions.
Mrs Woodward's class have PE on a Tuesday and Friday.
Mr Pratt's class have PE on a Tuesday and Thursday.
This half term, the children will continue to take part in our Regular Readers initiative. We would like to remind parents that children need to read 3 times throughout the week in order for children to earn their dojos and earn their extra break time, for consistently being a regular reader, during the last week of term.
Weekly homework will be set on a Monday and due in the following Monday. Please check in your child’s home school diary for the insert each week - this will also be set out via WEDUC to parents each week. Your child will also be given weekly spellings on a Monday. These spellings will then be tested on the following Monday during our weekly spelling lesson. Times Tables Rockstars logins are stuck in the back of Home School Diaries, please encourage your children to practise as often as possible.
