Extra Curricular Clubs

We firmly believe in offering first class extra curricular clubs for our children, to suit a range of talents, abilities and needs. We run these during the lunch hour, during the school day (peripatetic lessons), before and after school every day of the week. We have 30-45 clubs on offer each half term!

Pupils apply for free of charge lunchtime clubs, by signing up in class. After school club leaders and peripatetic teachers write to parents and open booking spaces each half term, via the office. Many of these clubs are heavily subsided or free of charge and act as a part of our childcare support after school, in addition to our extremely popular after school club.

Pupil Premium funding

All of our clubs are considered for part or full funding for pupils who are in receipt of pupil premium. Our Pupil Premium leader, Mrs Kirkham, makes this decision in partnership with our class teachers to ensure that pupils receive targeted support for the area of need identified as a barrier to learning.

Our Clubs

We are pleased to share our Summer 1 clubs timetable which is now open for booking.

Take a look at what was on offer in Spring 2 2026

Information about how to book can be found on your WEDUC timeline.

Music Tuition at Newcroft

We are proud to offer a broad range of music tuition at Newcroft. These lessons are delivered by peripatetic teachers and are all chargeable. Further details of this below for what is on offer and details on how these sessions can be booked.

Singing lessons

Laura Wydell teaches singing lessons on Mondays for children years 1-6.  Laura will also be offering an after-school club for performing arts in 205-26.

Guitar lessons

Darren Jones teaches guitar lessons, now on a Friday. These lessons are for Years 2 – 6.

Piano and drums- Tuition from Music Academy

Pippa Wilkes will continue to teach piano for Years 2-6.

Drumming lessons will be available for years 2-6.

Brass

Laura Moore is returning to school once again, offering brass lessons on a Tuesday for Years 2-6.

How can music lessons be booked?

If you would like to book your child onto music lessons with one of our peripatetic teachers, please contact the school office directly. For lessons run by Music Kids Academy, bookings can be made by scanning the QR code available from the office. Please note that there are costs associated with these lessons, which vary depending on the tutor and the chosen instrument. If your child is in receipt of Pupil Premium funding, please contact Mrs Kirkham to discuss as above.

We pride ourselves on delivering a varied, excited music curriculum for all children at Newcroft. In year 3, all children learn how to play the ocarina in the summer term. In Year 4, all children learn how to play the ukelele in weekly lessons delivered by Leicestershire Music Services in the Summer term. In year 5, all children will have 10 weeks of clarinet lessons taught by Music Kids Academy over the Autumn term.

If have any further questions about the peripatetic music lessons at Newcroft, please do speak to the school office and we will be happy to help.
